[PATCH 3/4] OvmfPkg: Enable physical presence interface for TPM 1.2

Enable the physical presence interface for TPM 1.2. It is required for
the TPM 1.2 menu to work.

The variable cannot be locked but it is able to store new values.

Apart from this being an old API, what could the locking problem be related to while writing to it works?

Also, why does the variable need to be locked and is there an explicit unlock necessary? Is it for vendor-specifc modules to not be able to touch it (or any other variables)?
